Brother Fashion Show
This page highlights my commitment to ethical fashion and sustainable design practices through hands-on collaboration and creative upcycling. By integrating sustainability into fashion production, I aim to contribute to a more responsible and innovative industry future.

This section features my work in circular fashion and upcycling, demonstrating my dedication to reducing textile waste while supporting local creative communities. Through collaborative design and responsible material use, I aim to show how emerging designers can prioritize sustainability without sacrificing creativity and innovation.

Upcycled Runway Collaboration with Jane Clauss
Partnered with Jane Clause, a Chicago-based sustainable fashion designer, who works closely with Brother, a sewing machine company, to upcycle garments for fashion presentations. I contributed to look development, garment refinement, and sustainable accessory creation.
My Role & Contributions:
-
Designed and constructed upcycled hats for the runway finale using leftover denim scraps
-
Collaborated on ideation and problem-solving for five runway looks
-
Assisted with garment construction and finishing techniques
-
Supported backstage preparation and runway styling
Skills Demonstrated:
Sustainable design, material repurposing, accessory construction, creative problem-solving, teamwork, runway preparation
This collaboration allowed me to actively apply sustainable design principles while supporting a local designer’s mission to reduce waste through upcycling. Working with repurposed fabrics challenged me to approach design resourcefully, reinforcing the idea that sustainability and creativity can coexist. Contributing to the runway show also broadened my understanding of sustainable fashion’s role in community-driven design and industry innovation.
